Five Diamond Central Station (CSAA)

What is the Five Diamond Program?

The Five Diamond Program is a balanced certification program providing a differentiation in the marketplace because:

It signifies five points of excellence:

  1. Commitment to random inspections and quality criteria standards by a nationally recognized third-party laboratory such as: UL or FM.
  2. Commitment to the highest levels of customer service.
  3. Commitment to ongoing job-related education and testing by having 100% of its central station operators certified using the CSAA online training series.
  4. Commitment to raising the industry standards through CSAA membership and participation in its activities.
  5. Commitment to reducing false dispatches.

Who can become a Five Diamond?

The CSAA's "Five Diamond 100% Operator Certified Central Station" designation is granted to those central stations who:

  • have 100% of its central station operators certified by the CSAA Central Station Operator Level I Online course and
  • further pledge to continue all future certifications through the CSAA ; and
  • are CSAA members in good standing
  • and satisfies all the requirements of the five points of excellence.

Companies achieving and maintaining their Five Diamond Certification are committed to serving the public and the AHJs through the professional development and standardization of training for all their central station operators.

This certification, and its annual renewal, demonstrate a commitment of the Five Diamond Central Station to the continual upgrade in the performance levels of the central station operators who are the first line of defense in private sector emergency response.

What is the objective of the CSAA Five Diamond Alarm System Certificate?

To offer to the general public and consumers, AHJs - such as police, fire, 911 centers, sheriffs - and insurance carriers an assurance of good practice and efficacy in alarm systems. With good practice and adherence by issuing companies, the CSAA Five Diamond Alarm System Certificate program will be synonymous with quality service, operation, and equipment.

Several years ago, CSAA embarked on a program to create a national recognition program of Five Diamond Central Station Service. Essentially, a central station has to meet three qualifications:

  • Be a CSAA member company in good standing;
  • Maintain their UL Listing and/or FM Approved status;
  • Agree to train, maintain, and annually certify to CSAA that all its operators have successfully completed the CSAA Central Station Operator Level 1 and/or Advanced level Online Courses.

This program has met with exceptional success and has been nationally recognized by many of the AHJs and increasingly, by the insurance company.
